Podcast delay and manic rewrites
Hey Warpers
Just a quick update from the AI War Panda command chair, because indeed a chair is about all i could be in command of 😂. Currently I’m surrounded by biscuit crumbs, half-finished energy drinks and a panda and a bot freaking out because i decided to change everything.
Unlike a conventional podcast with a couple of people chatting, AI War Panda is a sci-fi audio drama/comedy, written as we go so it’s as interesting and unpredictable for me as it is for you.
I’ve got the War Panda and Deadheart lore mapped out, but the direction of the plot is fluid which is half the fun.
Originally, I set out to make short, silly sketches. But somewhere between the biscuit jokes and cosmic nonsense, I realised a proper storyline was forming. Don’t worry — the silliness stays! The aim has always been to create something that lifts the gloom, not adds to it.
There’ve also been a couple of creative differences behind the scenes, so two of our announcement team are heading off to digital pastures with more bandwidth. In truth, I wanted to give the show more heart, so with a full episode ready to go I did the most logical thing possible: scrapped it and started again. Yay, go me.
Another change: the release day. Wednesdays seemed like a good idea at first, but it’s a weird day to drop something you’ve poured your soul into. So from now on, episodes will land late Friday night (UK time) or early Saturday morning.
It just feels right, a cup of coffee, your favourite sticky bun (or biscuit… cookie for our American friends), and a hit of War Panda weirdness to kick off the weekend.
So:
🎙 Episode 4 will hit your podcast catcher on Saturday 11th.
🎃 The next one arrives on Halloween night — my favourite night of the year.
This whole thing’s still a learning curve. The conventional wisdom says it takes around ten episodes for a podcast to find its stride. So we’ve got time — and a solid excuse — to keep working out the kinks.
Thanks for sticking around, for listening, and for being part of this little corner of absurdity.
Soon be Christmas. 😉
